EMPIRE HOTEL READY TO WELCOME GUESTS AFTER TEMPORARY CLOSURE

Hotel prepares to resume operations by 15 October upon re-connection of essential utilities

Empire Hotel is all ready to warmly welcome guests back after voluntarily halting operations as a precautionary safety measure following the incident at Empire Shopping Gallery. According the Ricky Ho, Group General Manager of Empire Hotel, “We are excited and ready to extend a special welcome to our guests in typical Malaysian hospitality. The staff have done tremendous job in safely evacuating over 300 guests in co-operation with the Fire & Rescue Services Department. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to our hotel neighbors within the vicinity for lending quick support during our crucial time of need. No doubt Hoteliers are united. We look forward to resuming operations very soon.”

Empire Hotel is part of the integrated development that includes Empire Shopping Gallery, Empire Soho and Empire Tower. Besides some glass shatters in the lobby, the hotel was relatively unscathed. Within 24 hours of the incident, arrangements were coordinated for guests to have their belongings returned to them. All arrangements were coordinated to ensure the travel plans of our domestic and international guests remained as planned. The unfortunate incident has resulted in the hotel cancelling all reservations made for accommodation and banquet at least till 15 October.

To exhibit its readiness, Empire Hotel today hosted the Media Briefing for over 50 attending journalists and relevant authorities. “This incident was unexpected and wholly out of our control. What we can control now is the quality hospitality experience and total commitment to customer service that has made us the preferred hotel in Subang Jaya,” said Ho.

The trendy boutique Empire Hotel opened its doors to the public in July 2010 and has since enjoyed an average occupancy rate of 82%. It boasts 198 rooms with an average room rate of RM250. It is complemented by a well-appointed ballroom and 5 meeting rooms. Its F&B outlets include the Kitchen Art Brasserie at the 2nd floor and DiWei Chinese Restaurant on the 1st Floor. All rooms have complementary wi-fi connectivity
